Artist Comments: It’s exciting to see the recovery of the Bald Eagle population here in Ontario.  Although they are not entirely out of the woods, there status is now classified as “Special Concern”. In 1980 there were only 3 nesting pairs in Ontario and now there are more than 1400 pairs. I’ve had the good fortune to come across a few of these majestic birds of prey over the years and have enjoyed observing a breeding pair on the lake not far from our home, which has offered plenty of inspiration for this painting.
