Who hasn’t sat at the shore of a lake to enjoy a sunset? The calm of the water, the dissolving details in the far shore and far off hills. The way the light plays off the clouds. That magical moment to mark the end of a day. I’ve painted many sunsets in Algonquin Park. The light may not be any different then home, but somehow it just feels different. More alive. That is what I wanted to capture in this painting. That magical moment that makes me sigh and think where else would I want to be.
