Canoe Series #50

This being the 50th sculpture in my Canoe Series makes it very special to me. I like to call it my “Fiftieth or
Golden Anniversary” piece due to its place in the series. You will notice the golden hues throughout the piece from
the stone to the sunset glass. The edition number and signature are engraved on the back of the glass sun. My
Canoe Series started with a small edition of six in 2016, and there are now a total of fifty-one in the growing
edition. This piece will no doubt be an important collector’s piece.
My Canoe Series pieces have evolved from small starter sculptures to larger and more detailed pieces.
Canoe Series #50 features a pair of loons with one calling out to the other ahead of it. You will notice that the pine
boughs directly in front of the sun have been created in a textured, transparent glass that accentuates the colour of
the sun, and the stone is a beautiful piece of brown agate that displays some fascinating golds and browns as well.
I hope that it reminds you of paddling on your favourite lake or river whenever you view it. This special piece really
“comes to life” when placed by a window.
