Artist Biography
Daniel's artistry reflects a mastery of combining natural and urban elements, resulting in a distinctive language that is both visually striking and deeply thought-provoking.Hailing from Eastern-townships, Melbourne, Quebec, Daniel's background in Fine Arts is apparent in his work, where he employs a diverse range of mixed media, including mosses, dried flowers, sticks, stones, and crushed cement, to create mesmerizing textures and depth in his pieces.
His art speaks to the viewer in a unique dialect, where realistically rendered creatures interact with urban elements, such as graffiti and tire tracks, in a way that captures the uneasy relationship between urbanization and the natural world. His paintings create a new vocabulary of wildlife, not merely depicted, but embodied in a language that is both poetic and poignant.
Through his use of color and composition, Daniel transforms his canvases into windows into worlds that are both beautiful and ominous. In 2005 he completed a BFA program with a major in Fine Art from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and shortly after went on to receive a graduates diploma from Seneca College at York University in Visual Effects for film and television.
