This painting reflects my ongoing relationship with a small island that I return to year after year. Over time, the land itself has shaped both my experience and the way I paint. I am continually drawn back to this place — to observe how light, weather, season, and water transform it from one visit to the next. Rather than depicting the landscape as a fixed scene, the work attempts to capture a living presence that is constantly changing and quietly influencing those who spend time within it. Through repeated observation and memory, the island has become both subject and collaborator, shaping the atmosphere, colour, and emotional tone of the painting.
