Artist BiographyErica Hawkes is a Canadian Landscape artist. She is represented in over ten galleries across Canada and has been a finalist in the Artist magazine landscape competition. She was also recently featured in the “artist to collect” portion of Arabella art magazine.
Erica grew up in beautiful BC. She went to school for art and design at Colorado institute of art and years later finished with a degree in fashion design at VCC in Vancouver. Mainly self-taught, Erica owes her unique style to a variety of influences. The main body of Hawkes work is called Nouveau 7, which shows her love of Canada’s own Group of Seven, and the the beautiful flowing lines of the Art Nouveau movement at the turn of the century. Hawkes also has an affinity for Japanese minimalism. These qualities give Erica’s landscapes a modern contemporary feel with nostalgic glimpses of our historical favourites.
