BIOGRAPHY

Ross

Canadian artist E. Robert Ross believes that mankind can benefit from the valuable lessons that nature has to offer, and his art is a reflection of his genuine love of the natural world. Born in Hamilton, Ontario and raised in Burlington, Ross has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. Nature and the outdoors have been an important part of his life since his youth. An avid outdoorsman, Ross spent his early years camping in northern Ontario, gaining an extensive knowledge of the northern wilderness and a keen appreciation for its flora and fauna. These factors played a major role in his eventual decision to become an artist, although he originally studied to become an architect. The architectural principles of design have served him well in choosing to become an artist instead. He began painting seriously shortly after graduating from high school, where Robert Bateman was his art teacher.

"People love nature and the outdoors," says Ross, "My work seems to remind them of a particular experience."
